What can my child wear camping in temperatures below 14 degrees?Updated 2 months ago

What to wear camping in temperatures under 14°C?

We do not recommend layering two sleep pouches together, as it can make it difficult to monitor your baby’s body temperature, and excess layers can increase the risk of overheating.

To ensure your child is comfortable, we always suggest checking their body temperature by feeling their tummy or back, which should feel warm. Don’t worry if your baby’s hands and feet feel cool—that’s completely normal.

For preschool-age children who can safely use a blanket and regulate their temperature, a good option is to pair a sleep onesie with a regular blanket or a camping sleeping bag (if camping).

We recommend following our Room Temperature and What to Wear Guide, which comes with your pouch. Dress your child in our TOG-rated Layers and Bodywear underneath any of our 3.5 TOG Pouches for added warmth. Our TOG-rated Layers and Pyjamas are available in a range of TOGs to suit different temperatures.

Please note, our products are designed primarily for indoor use and not for camping conditions. Our layering advice is for sleeping in temperatures of 14°C or higher. For temperatures below that, we suggest consulting an outdoor specialist for the best comfort and safety for your baby.
