What is a TOG?Updated 2 months ago

If you’re new to TOG ratings and wondering how they relate to sleepwear and swaddling, we’ve got you covered!

A TOG (Thermal Overall Grade) is a unit of measurement that indicates the warmth and insulation level of sleepwear or bedding. In simple terms, the higher the TOG rating, the more insulated and padded the fabric is. The lower the TOG rating means lighter fabric, perfect for warmer temperatures.

When using TOG-rated sleepwear, there's no need for extra blankets in your child’s sleep space. It helps take the guesswork out of finding the right temperature for your baby.

All ergoPouch sleepwear is TOG-rated and made from breathable, natural fibres like soft organic cotton with 5% elastane, allowing for stretch across the chest. Since babies can't regulate their temperature the way adults can, choosing the right layers is essential to keeping them safe and at the perfect temperature for a restful night’s sleep.
