Does the TOG rating change over time?

All of our products undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet the appropriate TOG  rating, which includes assessing the stability of warmth over time. While the TOG rating is designed to remain consistent throughout the life of the product, there are a few factors that can influence its performance.

Over time, the loft of the filling may change or flatten due to factors such as frequent washing, agitation in washing machines, or how often the product is worn. However, as long as the product is properly cared for and washed according to the care instructions, this should not impact its overall TOG rating or warmth.

The TOG rating may be affected if the product is not handled or washed as per the guidelines. For example, washing at incorrect temperatures, using harsh detergents, or exposing the product to excessive drying heat can cause the fibres to lose their loft and, in turn, slightly reduce the thermal efficiency.

To maintain the product's optimal warmth and TOG rating, we recommend following the care instructions closely.
